Short Story Writing Month
May is National Short Story Month, and what better way to celebrate short stories than to write one? So in 2011, I started a forum and got some people together and we all wrote a short story, then we critiqued everyone else’s short story, then we revised our own, then we did more critiquing and revising, and at the end of the whole thing, we each had a polished short story. It was a lot of fun, and I would like to invite you to join us next time.
The goal here isn’t to spend every waking moment in front of a keyboard for a month, but rather to create something small and beautiful, and have fun doing it.
The forum is back online, so feel free to register for ShoStoWriMo 2012. If you were a participant last year and wonder what happened to your account, I’m sorry but between the forum being overrun by spammers and my old hosting provider crashing I have had to start from scratch (with better forum software and a better provider).
